Wounded Warriors in Action

As a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, Banning Contracting Services has always felt that it is important to give back to our nation’s veterans. Accordingly, we selected Wounded Warriors in Action (WWIA) to support, as their core values align so closely with our own.

WWIA provide world-class outdoor sporting activities to Purple Heart recipients to assist in their recovery efforts, all at no cost to them. According to an independent scientific survey conducted by a leading consortium of recreational programs for veterans, WWIA ranted #1 out of 78 participating military charities in terms of overall program performance, staff/volunteer support, and client satisfaction.

This year, BanningCS has supported WWIA by donating an all-inclusive four-person hunt at a five-star lodge in Argentina. Further, we have sponsored our own BCS Superintendent, Asa Barrett, who serves as a WWIA Lead Associate, to attend trainings and lead WWIA events. Asa served in Operation Enduring Freedom and is also a Purple Heart Recipient. He completed WWIA guide school where he learned how to facilitate and guide injured veterans on their hunts. This year, Asa will participate in two WWIA hunts, one turkey hunt and one whitetail/duck hunt.

Folds of Honor

In addition to WWIA, Banning Contracting Services also supports Folds of Honor Foundation. The Folds of Honor Foundation was founded in 2007 by Major Dan Rooney, a former F-16 pilot, golf course owner, PGA Professional and USGA member. A Major in the Air National Guard and a decorated military aviator, Rooney has served three combat tours in Iraq. After returning from his second tour, Major Rooney established the Folds of Honor Foundation to provide educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members.

As a service-disabled veteran-owned organization, Banning Contracting Services knows first-hand how important it is to continue to serve our servicemen and servicewomen and their families when they return home from duty. By serving our own veteran employees and veteran organizations, we continue to work every day to ensure that we are doing our part to contribute to this important mission.
